JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Longtime Mississippi state Sen. Jack Gordon is hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment.
State Sen. Doug Davis told The Associated Press Gordon was taken Sunday to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Davis, who was at the hospital with Gordon's family, said doctors were running tests to determine what's wrong with the 66-year-old Democrat from Okolona.
Davis wasn't comfortable being more specific before talking to Gordon's family.
Gordon's condition was not immediately available.
Gordon has spent a total of 16 years in the Senate after serving in the House. He's chairman of the Public Properties Committee. His district includes parts of Calhoun, Chickasaw, Grenada and Lee Counties.
