PIKE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Pike County officials have decided that a jury from Forrest County will hear the capital murder case involving the starvation death of a two-year-old boy.
The trial of 24-year-old Thomas Kelly is scheduled to start March 22nd. Pike court officials will go to Hattiesburg to select a jury. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty. The defense requested a jury from outside the area. The trial will then be held at the courthouse in Magnolia.
Kelly was indicted for capital murder and conspiracy, along with 27-year-old Kimberly Hood in the May 2008 death of Hood's son, Markqice.
Kimberly Hood's trial is scheduled for September.
