JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A potent cold front will be moving into the state later this evening increasing the possibility of severe weather. With muggy temperatures and high dewpoints across the area, we have an unstable air mass over us.
Areas north of I-20 and east of I-55 run the risk for seeing large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado. Southwest Mississippi could still experience strong storms although drier air will be pushing in behind the system. This storm system looks to fire up between 6pm tonight and 1am Thursday morning. With all modes of severe weather being possible, I encourage you to keep it tuned to WLBT and to make sure you have your weather radio on.
Follow me on Twitter where I'll be giving up dates throughout the afternoon and evening. And don't forget WLBTtogo.com on your mobile device when you're away from your television. I'll be with you throughout the duration of the storms and will have the latest tonight on WLBT beginning at 4pm.
