NASHVILLE, Tenn. Mississippi State's Barry Stewart scored a team-high 17 points as the Bulldogs topped Florida 75-69 in a Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinal game at Bridgestone Arena.

The Western Division top seed, MSU improves to 22-10 and advances to Saturday's semifinal round where it will play either Vanderbilt or Georgia.

That contest is slated for a 2:15 p.m. CT start and a national telecast by ABC. The Bulldogs will be the lone Western Division participant in Saturday's semifinal round of the league tournament. Florida is now 21-12.

The Bulldogs matched a SEC Tournament school record by hitting 10 3-point baskets. Stewart led the way with a 3-of-6 night from the land of three.

The Bulldogs hit 10-of-20 shots from long range, as they built a 19-point second half lead before hanging on for the win.

 Jarvis Varnado added 15 points, while Ravern Johnson scored 12 points. Dee Bost and Kodi Augustus each added 10 points as the Bulldogs won a fifth straight SEC Tournament game for the second time in school history.
