Negotiations made not to fire Meridian superintendent

MERIDIAN, MS (WLBT) - The Meridian Public School District overturns its own decision to fire the superintendent.

Instead the board decided to pay Charlie Kent Jr. $70,000 to resign.

The settlement is the result of negotiations between the board attorney and Kent's attorney.

Kent had held the districts top administrative job since July 2008.
