JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Many questions continue to surround a Saturday afternoon shooting that sent one man to the hospital.  Shots were fired into a vehicle in the 1600 block of Cox Street around 1:30 p.m.  The vehicle was found less than a mile away on Evergreen Avenue near Battlefield Park.

Jackson Police detective Roderick Holmes told WLBT a woman was driving this white Hyundai with a man in the passenger seat.  They were fleeing the scene of an altercation on Cox Street when shots rang out.  The rear window of the vehicle was blown out and the unidentified man was struck.  He was rushed to an area hospital and injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.  Detective Holmes said officers are still trying to identify the gunman.
