JAPAN (WLBT) - A strong magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck off the eastern coast of Japan Sunday causing the interruption of some train services.
Train service was automatically stopped in parts of Japan when the quake hit. Local officials report light damage to structures and no casualties. According to Japan's meteorological agency, the earthquake was felt most strongly in the central Fukushima section of the country.
The quake could reportedly be felt in Tokyo, nearly 130 miles south.
A tsunami alert has not been issued.
