Kids grab the "lime" light in their own parade

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Children had their own St. Paddy's Day Parade Saturday morning, in front of the Mississippi Museum of Art.

Families decorated wagons, and the children strolled along with their moms and dads wearing their St. Paddy's Day green. A big crowd attended this year, with Inky the Clown directing.  It was a beautiful morning for kids to have a moment in the "lime" light.

We talked to two of the winners.

"She's dressed up as an Irish princess, she won the performance award," said Robin Hutchinson about her daughter.

"They won the trophy for originality. Layla Dukes, Gabriel and Michelle Blackmon," said Laura Blackmon of the group of children she pulled in a decorated wagon.

Three trophy winners were chosen in all.
