1 killed in Jackson double shooting

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Sunday Police were investigating a double shooting that resulted in the capital city's latest murder.

Just after midnight, Jackson police responded to an apartment located at 1595 West Highland Drive.

There, 39-year-old Pammy Taylor and 21-year-old Brittany Cheeks were allegedly shot by Taylor's ex-boyfriend Hardell Cornelius.

Both victims were taken to UMC.

Cheeks died just after 1 a.m.

Taylor under went emergency surgery.

Officers are still searching for 31-year-old Cornelius. He faces murder and aggravated assault charges.
