YAZOO CITY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

YAZOO CITY, MS (WLBT) - Six former MDOT workers have pleaded guilty in a fraud scheme run through the vehicle mechanic shop at the Yazoo City MDOT facility.

Joseph Gallagher, Gene Taylor, Clarence Shelton, James Malone, Ivory Luckett and Dennis Pierce all admitted their involvement.  The fraud ran the gamut from using false invoices to embezzle money, to using MDOT to pay bills for private parties, including work on some of the employees' personal vehicles.

The penalties included fines, probation --and in one case, house arrest. Check out the link to the MDOT press release for more details.
