Mississippi farmers to donate thousands of eggs - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
Jackson, Miss. (WLBT) - Mississippi egg farmers will donate 144,000 eggs Tuesday morning to the Mississippi Food Network.
The 144,000 eggs is the equivalent of 12,000 egg cartons that hold a dozen eggs each.
The donation comes at a time when Mississippi has a 17% food insecurity rate.
Egg farmers nationwide will donate more than 12 million eggs to help make sure America's food banks are well stocked just in time for Easter.
