MADISON, MS (WLBT) - A national competition known as "Poetry Out Loud," will be held next month in Washington, D.C.
Mississippi will be represented by a freshman from Rosa Scott School in Madison.
John Uzodinma bested a field of 36 students ranging from the ninth through the twelfth grades to become Mississippi's champion.
"Poetry Out Loud", reaches students in public, private, alternative and home schools across the state, and Uzodinma will compete with students from all 50 states at the national finals next month in Washington.
