JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Members of the Jackson City Council unanimously voted in support of a consent decree dealing with JATRAN buses Tuesday.
Disabled residents had complained about JATRAN service and access.
Under the agreement, the city will make improvements to JATRAN's handicapped accessible buses.
The decree was reached after a lawsuit and formal complaint were filed against the city, by the "LIFE" organization, which is short for Living Independently For Everyone.
The group says residents with disabilities want a bus system they can rely on.
