Nissan expands Canton plant, product line

CANTON, MS (WLBT) - Nissan has completed the expansion of its Canton plant to begin production of commercial vans.

The automaker spent $118 million dollars to add over 63,000 square feet to the paint and body shops. 

They also added a new assembly line. The 2011 Nissan NV will be Nissan's first entry into the commercial vehicle market in North America.

There will be three models available and it's scheduled to launch in late 2010.

    16-year-old Raven Little-White died in August, after a boating accident on Lake Waccamaw. The medical examiner’s report lists “drowning” as the probable cause of death, but a toxicology report that came back later revealed Raven had actually succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
