JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A domestic dispute turned violent Saturday night, when one woman opened fire on another.

The shooting happened just before seven o'clock in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at McDowell and Robinson Roads.

According to Jackson police, two women were arguing over a man at the scene.

Witnesses told WLBT that 31-year-old Synithia Nichols began breaking the windows out of her own gray car when she found her boyfriend inside with another woman.

We were told the boyfriend had taken the vehicle two weeks ago and someone informed Nichols where she could find it.

She went to the scene with a crowbar.

Jackson police said that's when the woman inside allegedly opened fire on Nichols.

"I saw a young lady sitting in the vehicle shooting and I didn't know what she was shooting at, why she was shooting. So I pulled over because I knew the young lady who owns the vehicle. So I pulled over, and she was shot in the stomach and once in the side," said Monieca Coleman.

"When I came out I just saw the girl just hitting the windows with the crowbar and that's about it and then I heard gunshots too and that's it and then she was walking around and I saw blood on the side of her," said Monique Dennis.

Nichols was transported to University Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.

The other unidentified woman and man were taken in by police for questioning.

JPD Spokesman Joseph Daughtry said no one has been arrested at this time.
