Pecan Park students will visit White House

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - First Lady Michelle Obama's office has invited 30 Pecan Park Elementary students to participate in the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House Monday.

The First Lady visited Pecan Park Elementary during her trip to Jackson March 3rd, to promote her "Let's Move" wellness initiative.

The Pecan Park students will leave on a chartered bus Saturday afternoon and return Tuesday, April 6th.

The trip is being financed through private funds, and donations are still being accepted to cover the cost of travel, food, and lodging. If you're interested in making donations, contact principal Wanda Quon at 601-960-5444.

The White House has requested that the Pecan Park students arrive at 3:45pm Eastern time on April 5th, to participate in the Egg Roll.
