Three New Mexico girls lead police on high speed chase

SANTA FE, NM (NBC) - Police chases caught on tape are becoming common place, but this one is a bit different. The driver isn't a career criminal it's a 14-year-old girl and her two friends.

The adolescent lead police on a high speed chase in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Friday night.

Officers originally tried to stop The SUV after the teen's mom reported her daughter and the vehicle missing.

After several twists and turns police tamed the teen with a spike strip which brought the vehicle screeching to a stop.

The unlicensed 14-year-old driver and her 15 and 17-year-old passengers were arrested on numerous charges.
