Grand jury to hear teacher shoplifting case

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The felony shoplifting case against a Rankin County election commissioner and elementary school teacher will be presented to a grand jury.

District Attorney Michael Guest said Flowood police have turned the case over to his office.

The Richland Upper Elementary P.E. teacher was arrested in December. She has remained free on bond. Bernadine Norsworthy is accused of trying to steal $800 worth of items from Belk on Lakeland Drive. Norsworthy was been suspended from her teaching job.
