2 dead after truck crashes into house, catching it on fire

PRENTISS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A fire turned deadly in Prentiss County about 25 miles north of Tupelo.

According to authorities 27-year-old William Spain was driving on County Road 7000 when his truck left the road around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle broke through a fence, struck a light pole and crashed into a house.

The wreck possibly sparked a fire that swept through the home.

Two people escaped the flames but 42-year-old Rhonda Spain died.

William Spain was also killed.

The blaze is still under investigation.
