JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Thirty six year old Thomas Maxwell, who is visiting his mother at 1954 Camellia Lane, says he is amazed how the neighborhood has gone down, particularly in the past couple of months.

He heard the seven shots ring out Thursday evening. Police say two men kicked the door open asking for another man who lived there. They quickly became angered that he was not there and 22-year-old Andre Champion, uncle of the four year old who was shot told us what happened. Seven shots were fired. The four year old, Deonta Banks, had his head grazed by a bullet according to his uncle.

Little Deonta Banks was sitting right here on this couch when seven bullets hit the house, one of which grazed the top of his head.he is expected to make a full recovery.
