JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police are also looking for the men responsible for a shooting that happened during a robbery attempt Thursday night.

The men were both wearing black masks and demanded the money. When Patel refused to hand over the cash, he was shot in the stomach. Both men fled empty handed. Patel was taken to University Medical Center.

"Right now he's in critical condition right now. He got one shot here, the doctor said all his liver and everything is damaged. Right now he's in intensive care, bad condition right now," said store owner Dilip Patel.

No arrests have been made in this case. Jackson Police are asking anyone with any information on the shooting to call Crimestoppers at 355-8477.
