Family dog put to death for mauling child.

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT)- An update now on a story we brought you last night. The dog that mauled a Warren County boy and sent him to the hospital has been put down.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace tells WLBT that 22-month-old Jack Gaines was attacked in his yard by the family's black mouth cur dog. It happened Wednesday night just outside Vicksburg.

Gaines had surgery for multiple lacerations on his head and face. His parents, Robin Causey and Brad Gaines, say their son may not be able to open his left eye again. According to Vicksburg Humane Society officials, six-year-old Mojoe was euthanized around 1:30 Friday afternoon.
