RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Smokers in a Rankin County city may be limited to where they can light up, if a proposed ban is passed.
The Brandon Board Of Alderman is expected to consider a smoking ban Monday during their work session.
It would outlaw smoking tobacco in grocery stores, restaurants and retail businesses.
If it passes, Brandon would join cities like Jackson, Ridgeland and Clinton to be Mississippi's 33rd Municipality to prohibit smoking in public places. But it would be the very first city in Rankin County to pass a tobacco ban.
