A Petal man is scheduled to go on trial for murder later this week in Forrest County Circuit Court.
The murder trial is set to begin on Wednesday.
Daniel Koehler is charged in the stabbing death of his brother-in-law, 38 year old Christopher Mason.
Mason's death was the first homicide in Petal in about ten years.
Officials say Koehler and Mason had a physical altercation resulting from domestic dispute at their home back in November.
Mason had multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.
Koehler has been in the county jail since his initial hearing.
