Elderly man kills wife, then turns gun on self

CENTREVILLE, MS (WLBT) - An elderly man and his wife are dead in what police are calling a mercy killing and suicide.

Centreville authorities say 82-year-old Thomas Denson entered his wife's room inside Field Memorial Community Hospital Monday night.

Denson shot 83-year-old Betty Denson before turning the gun on himself.

The Natchez Democrat reports Betty Denson had Alzheimer's and she was getting worse.
