Two men detained on McDowell Road

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- Two individuals were detained on McDowell Road near Woodside Drive just before noon.

Twenty one year-old John Peterson was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and assault on a police officer. His charges have now been upgraded to include violation of probation. His bond is set at $3,800.

Twenty four year-old Alveriso Davis was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. His bond is set at just under $2,000.

A Jackson Police Officer who was injured while making the arrests was treated for injuries at the scene. Two handguns were recovered.
