PORT GIBSON, MS (WLBT) - An exchange of words at a club escalates into gunfire injuring a Port Gibson man.
Police Chief Calvin Jackson says 23-year-old Jamal Martin was shot four times at Rankin Food Stand on Church Street after 2 a.m.
Investigators say Martin had previously fought with another man outside a Port Gibson night club.
While at the food stand police say 31-year-old Sherman Pattison of Pattison approached Martin from behind, shoved him and opened fire.
Pattison, who turned himself in to police Saturday morning is charged with aggravated assault.
Martin is in stable condition.
