Man dies after being shot at gas station

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police investigated the city's latest homicide Sunday after a shooting victim later died of his injuries.

Officer Joseph Daughtry said just after 11:30 a.m. Jackson police were dispatched to the Texaco station in the 5300 block of North State Street.

Once on scene officers found 28 year old Michael Olowo-ake suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back.

He was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after noon.

Investigators have very few clues and need help with this murder investigation.

"Detectives are currently working, processing the scene and if there was anyone in the 53 hundred block that saw anything please call the police department so we can try to put this individual in custody," said Officer Daughtry.
