JACKSON, MS (WLBT) A standoff between police and a burglary suspects ends peacefully in Jackson Friday afternoon. It started after a home at 3932 Wabash street was broken into just before noon.

Officers arrived on the scene and immediately caught one individual. They chased another home, where he barricaded himself inside an apartment on Sunray Drive.

The burglary suspect locked himself inside the apartment with two small children and his girlfriend. Our cameras caught him peeking out the window.

Officers used a bull horn several times trying to coax him out, but he refused. After twenty minutes, the suspects mother arrived, and was able to make him open the door to the apartment.

Police arrested him and identified him as 19-year-old O'Brien Hubbard. He and his accomplice, 20-year-old Felix Williams are both being charged with house burglary.

Neighbors noticed the men breaking in the house, and called police immediately.

"I'm glad I got nosy neighbors, it's good to have neighbors who watch out for your property because people need to speak because it could happen to you any day," says Elizabeth Ingram, the burglary victim.

Elizabeth Ingram says some of her belongings were returned, but she's still missing nearly $400.00 cash, checks and jewelry. Ingram was collecting the money from her relatives for a family reunion this summer.
