JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police precinct four has a new home.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Saturday afternoon inside the new offices at 4436 North State Street.

An open house and reception were also held to introduce the public to the precinct's new location.

Officials said precinct four is one of the most active in the city, and that turnout at the event demonstrated the partnership between it and the community.

The new offices are located in the northeastern quadrant of the city and is headed by Commander Ken Goodrum.

"Although we're in another location we are still here to be of service to you in the community," said Chief Rebecca Coleman.

"We think that we have a good location here. It's good visibility. It's great parking for our cars and accessible to you the citizens here in precinct four," said Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.

The open house and reception were co-sponsored by Precinct 4 COPS Neighborhood Association.
