Clinton man arrested for placing daughter in tub

CLINTON, MS (WLBT) - A Clinton man is accused of placing his toddler in a tub of hot water.

31-year-old Jerry Wooten was arrested last Friday and charged with one count of felony child abuse.

According to investigators, Wooten was caring for his daughter, Komara, and her twin sister when he placed the baby in the water.

Investigators said in a previous incident, Wooten picked up Komara by the ears, splitting the skin connecting them to her head.

His case will be presented to the Hinds County grand jury.
