TYLERTOWN (WLBT) - A 16-year old Tylertown High student was killed early Tuesday morning in a single vehicle auto accident.
Quincy Conerly, a high school sophomore who played for Tylertown's 3A State Championship Chiefs' team this past Fall, was pronounced dead after being air-lifted to Hattiesburg's Forrest General Hospital. Conerly, and 2 others were on their way to school when the vehicle they were in ran off the road and collided with a tree. Conerly was riding in the passenger seat.
Tylertown head football coach, Walter Denson recalled his young athlete Wednesday amid great sadness.
"He was one of those kids who did everything you asked him to do," said Denson. "He wasn't a big kid, but he was very physical, and very tough, and very intelligent. He was a pleasure to coach."
