Teen remains in jail on home invasion charges

PEARL, MS (WLBT) - A teen suspected of invading a Pearl home remains in jail on a 1.5 million dollar bond.

Jawayne Carter waived his preliminary hearing in Rankin County Thursday.

Pearl police arrested the 15-year-old at a home in New Orleans Friday.

Carter was wanted for an April 7th home invasion in Pearl.

The teen faces charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of burglary tools.

17-year-old Jerrod Cowards and 15-year-old Jamain Ferguson are also accused of participating in the invasion.

Bond was set at 250,000 dollars for both Cowards and Ferguson.
