JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Fondren business owner is hoping you can help put a thief in jail, after she caught a burglar on surveillance tape Wednesday night.

The burglary occurred at the Orange Peel consignment store in Fondren.

Just after midnight, a man was caught on camera breaking in the door glass, then stealing a flat-screen television set from the store.

Owners said this is one of several recent burglaries in the area.  They're now requesting more patrols of businesses by Jackson police.

"I do think this area definitely is a hot spot right now, and it needs to be checked quite frequently.  I think there should be cops in and around here all the time consistently.  That way in a matter of a couple minutes they can be right here," said store owner Kristin Tubb.

The crime was called in by a passing motorist.  If you have any information on who this burglar is, you're urged to call Jackson police.
