3 ON YOUR SIDE: Woman robbed in Brandon parking lot

BRANDON, MS (WLBT) - There has been another frightening attack in a store parking lot in the metro area.

This time a woman came face-to-face with a purse snatcher in the parking lot of a grocery store on Spillway Road in Brandon.

It happened Sunday afternoon in broad daylight.

The victim told us she was walking between cars when a stranger grabbed her and tried to steal her purse.

The victim fought off the attacker, now identified as 21-year-old Zachary Thomas Clanton of Pearl.

Clanton fled the scene.

A Rankin County deputy made a quick arrest after spotting a vehicle matching the description broken down nearby.
