Suspect hospitalized after police chase

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A metro-area police chase ends Wednesday with the alleged suspect in the hospital.

The chase began at a park off Flag Chapel Road in Jackson.

A black Dodge Charger was pursued by Jackson police and Hinds County Sheriff's deputies.

Eyewitnesses said they were traveling at a high rate of speed as they came into Presidential Hills.

The unidentified driver slammed into a tree. He was taken to a local hospital where he remains in serious condition.

No word yet on why authorities were chasing him.
