Funeral Service Thursday for Dr. Dorothy Height

Funeral services are set for Thursday for the former chair and president emerita of the National Council of Negro Women, Dr. Dorothy Height.

Services will be open to the public, at the Washington National Cathedral in D.C.

President Barack Obama is set to give the eulogy at Thursday's service.

The president has also ordered flags at the White House and all public buildings be flown at half staff until sunset in honor of Dr. Height.

Dr. Height was remembered at a celebration of life memorial service in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night.

Dignitaries and others crowded Shiloh Baptist Church to honor what many call "the Godmother" of the Civil Rights movement.

Entertainer Bill Cosby, Reverend Jesse Jackson, President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were among the hundreds who honored Dr. Height.

Earlier that day, she was honored with an Omega Omega Service by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at Howard University.

Dr. Height was the sorority's tenth national president in 1947.

Dr. Dorothy Height, dead at age 98.
