YAZOO CITY, MS (WLBT) - Ever since the storm hit on Saturday, the hub of activity for law enforcement, emergency personnel and volunteers has been a vacant car dealership.
For more than 20 years, the Yazoo Motor Company has offered GM cars and trucks for sale in Yazoo City.
The dealership is owned by Gray-Daniels, which closed the business in 2008 because of the slumping economy.
The tornado all but destroyed the building, but now the parking lot is filled with trucks, emergency vehicles, and relief supplies.
Co-owner Bobby Gray said Thursday he was happy to make the property available.
"Yazoo City's been real good to us, and we wanted to try to give back to Yazoo City.
The people that's going through all of this turmoil in their lives. It's just one big mess," said Gray.
Gray said there are no plans to re-open the dealership.
