JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Severe weather, including a tornado or two, is possible this morning into the mid afternoon hours. By late afternoon and this evening, heavy rain and flash flooding will become the bigger concern.

We'll see a good band of heavy rain and storms set up over the area today. While some severe weather is possible, it looks more like heavy rain could be a problem. Parts of our area could see up to 4 inches of rain by Monday morning. Parts of northeast Mississippi could have rainfall totals on the order of 8-10 inches by Monday.

Be careful while driving in the downpours. Slow down and allow yourself extra time. I will be following the weather through the day and if there are any severe weather warnings, I will break into programming. You can also click here to follow me on Twitter for weather updates.
