JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Mississippians are making donations of all kinds to help the victims of Saturday's deadly tornado, including blood.
The Hinds County sheriff's department sponsored a blood drive Friday at the Mississippi state fairgrounds with the help of Mississippi Blood Services.
According to MEMA, 146 injuries were reported after the storm.
"There's just so many people out there that need blood everyday, as things happen all the time," said Blood Services employee Virginia Stewart. "But this type of tragedy shows how Mississippi people help one another and get through it together."
If you missed Friday's blood drive, you can still donate by going to Mississippi Blood Services on Lakeland Drive.
