JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A former crime stoppers director pleads guilty to embezzlement.
Margaret Cooper was the director of the advisory council of Mississippi Crime Stoppers from July 1998 to January 2006 before she was terminated. Cooper began two years in the pre-trial intervention program on April 13th this year which will result in non-adjudication once she completes the program.
She has repaid just over $2,400 of the principle of the funds embezzled. But Cooper still owes the state auditor's office over 2,600.
