CLINTON, MS (WLBT) - There is a new place in Clinton for folks to read, learn and study.  The Quisenberry Public Library is located at 605 East Northside Drive.  Sunday dozens gathered for the ribbon cutting and open house.  The library has been seven years in the making.

Now the Quisenberry is more than three times larger than the old library.  It will house a children's section and large areas for comfortable reading and studying.

"The old branch was 8,400 square feet and this one 26,000 square feet.  So it such a vast difference from what we had before and everyone in the community is so excited to have this finally after seven years of talking about it," said branch manager Shellie Zigler.

Opening events including cooking demonstrations and guest speakers are scheduled for the next few weeks.  The library officially opens Monday morning at 9:00.
