1 injured in morning shooting in Jackson

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating a morning shooting that left one man injured.

Just after 10 a.m. Monday, police responded to a disturbance call on the I-20 frontage road, between Gallatin Street and McDowell Road. There an officer pulled over a pickup truck and inside found a white male with a single gunshot wound to the leg.

JPD Spokesman Joseph Daughtry said the victim was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury.

Police are trying to find out where the shooting occurred and what exactly happened.
