RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - You could hear squeals of joy coming from the Turcotte Lab off Highway 43 at the Ross Barnett Reservoir Wednesday morning.
That's where students from the Mississippi School for the Deaf were taking part in the Second Annual Fishing Rodeo sponsored by the Jackson Optimist Club.
For most of these young people in attendance, it was their first fishing trip.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks provided everything the kids needed for the rodeo, including wildlife officers who helped the youngsters throughout the day.
