Horse lovers and cattlemen are being asked to lending a helping hand to tornado victims in Mississippi.
The Department of Agriculture and Mississippi Cattleman's Association are asking the public to donate fencing supplies, gates and other enclosures for animals. Monetary donations are also being accepted. "
Commissioner Lester Spell has a location on the fairgrounds set up to receive those rolls of barbed wire or posts or whatever someone would like to donate. Fencing supplies and monetary donations are being accepted at this time.
The Cattlemen's Foundation purchased chainsaws in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Now they are asking those be donated back to help out the latest storm victims. Supplies can be dropped off at Barn 6 on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.
