CRYSTAL SPRINGS, MS (WLBT) - It was a busy Mother's Day weekend in Crystal Springs.
Two water main breaks were repaired but residents need to boil their water before drinking it.
Mayor Arthur Evans said more than 2,000 customers are effected.
Pressure was lost while crews made repairs. The first break happened Saturday, but due to all the rain, crews had to wait for the weather to clear up to fix the problem.
The second break happened Sunday on the north end of town.
"Even though yesterday was Mother's Day our people were out there working like, okay we're public servants so let's just get it done. And we finally got the leak stopped around 12 midnight of all times and got everything, the pressure up around 2 a.m.," said Evans.
The town will need to get two clear water samples from the state health department before the boil water notice is lifted.
That could take a couple of days.
