Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by car

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson man was hospitalized Tuesday after being struck by a car earlier that day in the capitol city.

Around noon JPD responded to an accident at the intersection of Capitol and Alabama Streets. A female driver hit 44-year-old Anthony Johnson, who was trying to cross the road. Detective Roderick Holmes said Johnson was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.

Police are treating this as an accident and no charges have been filed against the driver.
