TERRY, MS (WLBT) - A burglary, sometime over the past weekend, cost the Terry Volunteer Fire Department more than $10,000 worth of equipment.
The fire department is located in a metal building just west of I-55 on Tank Road.
Fire Chief Eddie Chambliss, a veteran of seven years, said Wednesday the burglary occurred between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Monday.
He said items such as the jaws of life, chain and skill saws, and big fans were stolen out of fire trucks.
More than 30 firefighters work at the department.
There was no sign of forced entry which led the chief to think it was an inside job.
"As bad as I hate to say it, it looks like it could be an inside job. We do have Hinds County investigating this; however, you know we don't have anything at this time," said Chambliss.
If you have any information call the Hinds County Sheriff's Office.
