JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A new series of events is driving crowds to downtown Jackson Thursday. Congress Street was blocked off from Capitol to Amite Streets for the second downtown at dusk. Event planners and local businesses hosted the three-hour party.
From 5 to 8 p.m. folks were entertained by Peeples and the Alex Ross Band. Keifer's restaurant along with the new Congress Street Grille offered food and drinks.
"It's huge to get the word out there a lot of exposure for the downtown people. There's so much support coming down here right now. It will be great for us to see the new restaurant, get some exposure for that and also for Basil's and Keifer's that are down here on Congress Street. (There is) lots of support. We'll have a lot of fun," said Nathan Glenn, executive chef for Glenn Foods including Basil and Congress Street Grille.
Once a month "Downtown At Dusk" will be held in a unique Jackson hot spot.
