Despite the recession, Mississippi has the lowest amount of credit card debt compared to the rest of the nation.
According to the U.S. Credit Score Climate report, the state had the least amount of credit card debt in April.
The report was released this week by a San-Francisco based consumer credit group called Credit Karma.
On average, Mississippi consumers with a credit card had more than $6,000 in credit card debt in April.
The average U.S. consumer's credit card debt is more than $7,500.
The report was based on comparisons of more than 114,000 U.S. credit scores.
